Angela Hayes - Immediate Past President

 Angela Hayes, LMHC, LCAC began her career in 1992 as a clinical therapist  in  community mental health.  She has spent half of her career in community  mental  health both as a therapist and as an administrator.  The other half  has  been in  higher education.  Currently, Angela is a full time faculty at Ivy  Tech  Community  College, teaching in the Human Services Department. 


Angela also teaches as an adjunct for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling  Program at ISU where she also serves as a Clinical Supervisor for the graduate students in the Counseling Clinic.

Phil Schortgen - Treasurer

Phil Schortgen received his BA in Philosophy thru St. Pius X, Erlanger, KY in 1982. In 1986 he earned an M.Div in theology thru St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, IL. In 1992 he earned his M.S. in Mental Health Counseling thru St. Francis University, Fort Wayne, IN. As a counselor his first employer was the Koala Center in Fort Wayne, IN focusing on addictions treatment. This is where he developed an interest in addictions treatment. Phil received his certification as an addictions counselor. For a time he worked in an EAP department - largely concerned with addiction treatment. He has worked at the Recovery Center of AADP for the past 11+ years as the Clinical Director. This is an Anti-abuse program merging the disciplines of medical, probation, and clinical. They have been in existence for about 25 years. In the mid to late 1990's Phil was on the Governor’s Task Force for a Drug Free Indiana while working in Adams County.

Theresa Rader Wilson- Secretary


Dr. Theresa Rader, PsyD, HSPP, LCAC has work in the field of chemical dependency treatment and dual diagnosis treatment since 1982. She currently works in both private in Bloomington, IN and for Community Bariatrics South in Indianapolis. She obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University in 1997. She also earned a masters in social from Indiana University in 1984. Dr. Rader has published in area of neuropsychological functioning among patients with Borderline Personality Disorders. Over the years, Dr. Rader was provided clinical supervision to numerous psychology doctoral and social work students as well as a Medical Grand Rounds instructor at IU Bloomington Hospital. She has been passionate about the advocating for advanced treatment models for individuals suffering dual diagnosis disorders as well as gender-specific treatments for individuals suffering from substance use & disordered eating patterns. She has extensive training in CBT, Cognitive Processing, Traumatic Incident Reduction, MATRIX, Mindfulness, Stages of Change, ERP, & Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Rader holds active memberships with National Association of Addiction Professionals, American Association of Anxiety Disorders, and American Psychological Association.

Dr. Rader resides with her husband in Mooresville area. She is an avid runner/hiker and enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities. She travels to southwest regularly, enjoying activities such as photography and collecting Native American art. She is currently training her two-year old lab, named Geronimo, to become a certified pet therapy dog in the hopes of providing additional comfort and support to her clients suffering from PTSD and traumatic-related events.  


Stephanie Waddell - Association Manager


Stephanie Waddell
has been serving the non-profit industry for over seven years. She holds a BS in Tourism Conventions and Event Management from Indiana University. She works for Central Office   Management Solutions, an association management company based in Indianapolis.
